Magdalena, played by Emily Rios, jealously attends her friend’s Quinceañera (sweet 15 party) and plans her own. But her parents have their eyes on the budget, and have the same dress altered. The dress, which was already let out, still is not big enough, leading to suspicions that Magdalena is pregnant. Her conservative parents throw her out of the house and she runs to the abode of her 84 year old great-grand uncle Tomas, played by Chalo González, and gay cousin Carlos (8 inches uncut, if you know what I mean), played by Jesse Garcia, to live. Gay landlords move in and the fun begins.
This movie is guaranteed to make you smile as it examines the interplay between those traditionally cast out by families: pregnant teens and gay teens. Now that is saying a lot about a film! There is quite a bit of charm here, watching Tio Tomas sell champurrado (a thick chocolate brew) from a shopping cart in the neighborhood of EchoPark.
This film really is a must see. How can anything go far from wrong in the world? I give this movie:
I saw this a while back and I loved it. Carlos is way hunky and I would have left my boyfriend for him. But I don't get the marrying your cousin part, especially he's gay, nor do I get how sperm can travel from your thigh all the way upstream. But it is a very sweet movie.
I just love that you provide me with such fabulous recommendations for movies. As we know I LOVE LOVE LOVE & am addicted to movies...Especially light hearted, romance comedies!! And this looks like a charmer! Thankyou Sue darling!
Courage, strength, fortitude. Power not arrested in the act of judgement, but passing on to further action, sometimes obstinacy.
This is a card of courage and energy. It represents both the Lion's hot, roaring energy, and the Maiden's steadfast will. The innocent Maiden is unafraid, undaunted, and indomitable. In some cards she opens the lion's mouth, in others she shuts it. Either way, she proves that inner strength is more powerful than raw physical strength. That forces can be controlled and used to score a victory is very close to the message of the Chariot, which might be why, in some decks, it is Justice that is card 8 instead of Strength. With strength you can control not only the situation, but yourself. It is a card about anger and impulse management, about creative answers, leadership and maintaining one's personal honor. It can also stand for a steadfast friend.

They didn't marry; he just escorted her at her Quinceanera and vowed to stay and be her kid's dad.
