BloodTies: A Guilty Pleasure Revealed

Okay. So it’s not Buffy. Are all the Scoobies going to get together and stake me or what? Oh, if only they would come back! I can’t help it. I am powerless against Vampire television shows. BloodTies is LifeTime’s new series that airs at 10 pm on Sunday evenings starring Kyle Schmid as the 450 year old vampire Henry Fitzroy. He is a very pretty vampire too and that helps.

In the first episode, PI Vicki Nelson, played by Christina Cox, was a former detective that quit because of failing eyesight, witnessed a grisly murder of a young man. The girlfriend of the young man hires her to find his killer. Vicki’s ex-boyfriend, detective Mike Celluci, played by Dylan Neal, is also investigating. Henry is also looking for the killer before he becomes a suspect himself.

Vicki is out investigating and runs into Henry when the real murderer is about. Henry is injured and requires some blood to recover and Vicki donates from her wrist. Oh, I can’t stand the romance! They end up at Henry’s place with him recovering in bed. He wakes and says something like, “You gave me your blood. You are part of me now.” Don’t you just love vampire shows? Here is the skinny on their relationship. They have been in bed together, but not done the dirty deed. Of course her ex-boyfriend is insanely jealous. I want more!

The second episode featured voodoo and zombies and the last episode featured an incubus. This coming episode on Sunday will guest star Julian Sands. Okay, so this is my guilty pleasure. Let me know your verdict. How bad is it? How far gone am I? The real question is, will you join me in my depravity?

Hmm. That doesn't ring a bell. There was a show called Forever Knight.

Blood Ties will be aired in Canada in the fall, and I think in the UK too. Keep your eyes and ears open.

Sue,
You rock! I SO miss Buffy, so thanks for the vicarious vamp fix. Guilty pleasure TV makes life worth living. I'll have to check this out.

My most recent guilty TV pleasure: "I Love New York." Through and through Trash. Try to top that one ;)

So, were you a fan of the short-lived "Kindred" years ago? Five competing families/clans of vampires. The main vamp was gorgeous. I loved it. Unfortunately, when I picked up the DVD last year, I could barely even get through the first episode. I'd never realized what trash it was... and so, I recommend it :)

The Kindred is the show about a boy is talking about... warring clans of vamps (hot vamps) Sue I've been hearing about this show you're talking about and wanted to see it... Now that I know Julian Sands is going to be on it this Sunday... I'm there... Ever since Boxing Helena and the Warlock movies... He is a HOT favorite... Hi my name is Syn and I love bad television and movies.

I totally missed out on Kindred, so I have added it to my Netflix list (only 300 or so movies before I get to it). Syn - check out Julian Sands in "Room with a View" also. Romantic and very HOT. One thing though, it is a really good movie, so I'm not sure you will like it. Thanks for all the comments guys!
