Fair View Celebrates 209 New Countries!

OMG! It can't be, but it is! It is the territorial collectivity of Saint Pierre and Miquelon, a small group of islands south of the Canadian Province of Newfoundland. And, they have a flag! Say it isn't so! They are still under French control. In that case; BIENVENUE!

Sigh. It is another new country. Well, new to Fair View, that is. We are honored to welcome Jersey. We do so formally by presenting their flag:

Sigh. It is another new country. Well, new to Fair View, that is. We are honored to welcome Lesotho. We do so formally by presenting their flag:

Fairview Welcomes 206 New Countries!!!

Jesus fucking Christ!!! Will the list of countries never stop!!! Not that I really mind; I am blessed in fact. We welcome you all, truly. But when we were at 205, I thought we were done with this. But here we go again with 206! Who is it this time, you may ask? It is the Åland Islands and we welcome them. The Åland Islands are pretty much contiguous with the Finnish coast and have people from Finland and Sweden. When it came to deciding which country owned them, both wanted the islands, so the League of Nations gave them autonomy in 1921. They are neutral and demilitarized. Cool, huh? Here is their flag:

Fair View Welcomes 205 Countries!

As astounding as it may seem, we have not run out of countries in this big, wide world. Why just today, another was added. Some individual on an island in the Pacific Ocean, clicked on Fair View and our count went up by a whole one country as the Federated States of Micronesia was added to our already lengthy list. And so, without further ado, we welcome them to our growing family with our traditional formality by posting their flag:

Okay. Fair View will go along with that. If a place has a flag, we will honor it as a country too. So now, much to my surprise, Fair View has a whopping 203 new countries!!! Welcome to Wallis & Futuna! To welcome them formally here is their flag:

These are really tiny islands, people, that lie someplace in between Fiji and West Samoa in the vast Pacific Ocean. It must be paradise there! Look at the coral reef surrounding Wallis; looks like a great place to dive or snorkel! It's probably completely undiscovered.

According to my search, Futuna has no paved roads. Below is a view from one of the Islands:

Where the Fuck is Mayotte?

Holy shit, we have yet another country!!! WTF!?!?! Now there are 202! Well fuck me! You'll never guess this one; it is certainly a new one on me. It's formal appellation is the the Territorial Collectivity of Mayotte. Here is a map to show where it is in the Mozambique Channel between that island and the continent of Africa:

Dillon Buck Interview in SA's People Magazine

Dillon Buck was interviewed by South Africa's version of People Magazine which hit news stands this week. You can read the entire interview at the SA Leathermen site. Dillon was in SA as a celebrity guest at a Leatherman event to raise money for AIDS for the local Dibanani tribe. The interview is very informative.
