First, my apologies for taking so long to stop by my own blog! Thanks for your patience.

I've been very busy and distracted as my lease is up and I'm trying to find a new place to live...after being in the same apartment for almost 8 years. My landlord is an old friend, and has been giving me a great deal on the rent, so it's been difficult to find a place priced anywhere near what I've been paying.

As a result, Jacob has been on and off the drawing board for months now, along with other illustrations I've been trying to complete.

He's gone through many changes during this time. At one point his muscle shirt was a dirty tan color, his underwear a standard Calvin-Kleinish white. This slowly transformed into an almost metallic silver shirt and briefs combo...which then didn't seem to flame enough(!), so I went all out and painted/tainted him in full scarlet, with magenta highlights. I know, not every guy can pull this off, but I'm sure many have tried will try. And Jacob might just let you.

The First Edition of this Limited Edition Print ends Tuesday, August 28th.

In response to his many, many loyal fans around the world, I am so pleased to present the release of this Premier Limited Edition Print of the portrait I did for the legendary Francesco d'Macho. This is slightly different than the one I did back in 2007 -- I made some changes, and hopefully some improvements, but I'll let you be the judge -- the earlier version is posted in the May 2007 archives of my companion blog -- the Art of Rob Bartell.

This Premier Edition of Francesco is limited to only 30 prints. Every print is personally hand signed and numbered.

I am deeply grateful to Francesco for all his support and kindness -- he's truly a great, gracious and immensely talented man.

Today, Rob Bartell began his new blog with this new work called "Pumped". His other blog, Art of Rob Bartell, has been listed in my links for quite a while and features portraits of hunks. In this new blog, he will have all of his NSFW pieces. As you can see, he really shows his talent in the portrayal of the erect male genitalia. The Art of Rob Bartell: A Truly Fairview

Not since Oliver Frey have I seen an erotic artist whose work I have admired as much as the Art of Rob Bartell. With Frey it was all about the facial expressions, such as of abandon during release, or surprise at an impending compromising position, and the perfect rendering of the body’s positions no matter the situation. But with Bartell, it is the reality and luminosity of the skin achieved as well as the added sensuousness of the lips, eyes, breasts, groins and buttocks on these god-like males that draws me in like a moth to a flame whether in a created personage or in a portrait. Did I mention that all of his subjects are gorgeous? It is difficult to imagine why Rob wasted his time (20 years!!!!) painting ducks. Silly artist! But let us look at some of his art and discuss his unique style in more detail…

In this piece, titled Brandon, Bartell was admittedly influenced by a recent trip to Hawaii. Brandon is a tropical wet dream come true. I feast on his sensuous brown eyes, his lips, his tiny nipples. I want stick my tongue in between his thick but soft lips and I want his strong arms to hold me tight and close to his enormous pectoral muscles so that I can smell the fragrant flowers in the lei around his neck. Then, I realize that he is only a digital painting. Shucks! Rob what are doing to me?

This one is titled Michel. I just want to run my hand up his glossy thigh and suck on his ample pendulous breast and nipple. Look at that lower lip! Doesn’t it scream to be eaten? Well, gnawed on at the very least. Maybe by then he would put his big hands on my… Well, shoot he is only a digital painting too? Rob! Why do all these fantasy men look so real and so damn hot??? I feel dizzy…

He has now completed a portrait of a famous person that we all know, and that one of us has a porn crush on (but I am not naming names), Francesco D’Macho. Feast your eyes. I must say, this is my favorite portrait of Francesco. Congratulations Rob! I think it captures Francesco’s dreamy blue eyes and demeanor perfectly.

Egad, what a hot body. No enhancements or need for added sensuality were made there, I can attest to that just by looking. Francesco is the embodiment of a hot sexual fantasy. Like a moth to a flame… feeling dizzy again… sigh… (Ah, Monsieur Sagat, Je suis très desolée! Il et á vous toujours.) .

What were we talking about? Oh yes, the Art of Rob Bartell. See what your art does to me? Bad artist! Anyway, I hope you hit the big time now that you have painted someone famous. You certainly deserve it. I can easily foresee your art developing a cult following similar to that of Tom of Finland and Oliver Frey sometime in the future if you keep at it.

So dear readers check out Rob’s art from his blog and you can also buy prints on Ebay for your more private enjoyment (if you know what I mean), or hire him to paint your own portrait and become part of history yourself!
