They are a bit too smart to be caged. But even the, so to speak, lower animals exhibit caged animal behaviors, such as patterned pacing, and those are upsetting to see. But one needs to understand the higher purpose of Zoos, which is to expose the public to exotic species of animals that are endangered so that the public will appreciate and support efforts to save these animals. But zoos, can and should attempt to assuage the suffering of the animals by providing them living spaces that are more like their native environments. Zoos are making progress in this area.Suehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09787091044579213649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23050840.post-6448561248401751562009-07-09T15:42:35.580-04:002009-07-09T15:42:35.580-04:00Love the photos , but feeel bad for the poor bored...Love the photos , but feeel bad for the poor bored animals...Cristiano Mancinihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07058860483110766511noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23050840.post-68157226972256650202009-07-09T11:47:17.430-04:002009-07-09T11:47:17.430-04:00Thanks Doug! Thanks Doug!Suehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09787091044579213649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23050840.post-68654008080627087012009-07-09T11:40:22.497-04:002009-07-09T11:40:22.497-04:00Don't worry about it, Sue. That could be because of my brain thing that I don't recall being there. But, in any event, that zoo is not in the US. You are correct that it was fun being there even though they are not #1. Glad you like the carousel horses. Many people do and wooden ones are rare. I used to ride on one in NYC when I was a kid. I think it is still there.Suehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09787091044579213649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23050840.post-35437509843756240712009-07-09T09:57:46.350-04:002009-07-09T09:57:46.350-04:00Sue, have you ever visited the Toronto Zoo? You've inspired me and I might just post some of my pix from my last visit there one of these days.

I'm thinkin' that python looks like he needs a Tempur-pedic bed and a king sized one at that. When I lived out there I remember driving to the Cleveland, Toledo and Cincinnati's museums of art a few times when they had some interesting collections on exhibit. Those cities in Ohio were always more industrial and ethnic with wealthy families that built up and patronized the arts. Columbus in more of a University town although it's the Capital of the State.Stanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11165264073811444835noreply@blogger.com
